Transition to School

The transition to school program aims to promote a positive start to school for young children with disabilities. Families will receive support that is individualised to their child and will focus on their strengths, abilities and needs.

MEIS supports a collaborative approach involving the family, the school and others working to support the child e.g. therapists, early childhood teachers, MEIS staff. Planning together is required for the child’s smooth transition to school. It is important that programs and learning supports are continued into the school environment.
