Early Intervention

Early childhood intervention provides support to families who have a child (0-6 years) with a disability or developmental delay.

It provides families with knowledge and skills to support and optimise their child’s development as well as their ability to participate in family and community life. Early intervention can include the following range of services:

  • Screening and assessment
  • Therapy
  • Education
  • Health services
  • Inclusion support in early childhood services
  • Support during times of transition e.g. preschool, school
  • Other formal and informal supports.
